Lady in Red

Saturday was my baby sister, Kate's, homecoming dance.  I told you she looked smokin' hot in her dress!  I can't take all the credit for making the dress...I was super sick and my mom did a lot of it.  But, I handstitched that ruffle around the neck and the damn thing took nearly 4 hours.  I guess that is what happens when you are a perfectionist.  Will I make this dress again?... I absolutely hope so!  Maybe longer with a printed fabric...  I thought it turned out so cute!

I didn't get any great pictures of her hair, but Patrick did a lovely french twist.  It looked so elegant and simple.  He didn't want her hair competing with her dress.  Smart man.  I love that I married a man who "gets" those kind of things:)

Oh, and I busted out this clutch in like point 2 seconds using this idea from lil blue boo.  Love that blog!  Although I didn't use a placemat, I just lined the silver fabric with really thick interfacing and went from there.  Turned out cute enough:)

Carly, This is Dallin's mom, Dannielle. I just found your blog. Katy's dress turned out beautiful. You are very talented. I want to thank you for the lovely little dress you and Katy made for my daughter Grace for her birthday in June. She loves it! Thanks for sharing your skills.

Wow, that is beautiful...where was this talent when we were in need of formals? I have a shirt on etsy that I love but don't want to pay $70 for, maybe you need another project?!

That is so cute! Love the clutch too. I saw a big homecoming group last weekend at pf and thought how sick all the dresses were and wondered if there was at least one highschooler out there in the st. george world with style- I guess there is- it's your sister!!! I would have died if I saw that dress. Love the whole thing- dress, shoes, clutch, hair!
