Garlic Parmesan Focaccia

I made this delicious bread to go with the bowtie ceaser salad for the baby shower on Saturday. It is so easy and so much better than anything you can buy!

Garlic Parmesan Focaccia

Dough:
1 cup water (90-110 degrees)
1 ½ teaspoons (1 packet) dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
2 ½ to 2 ¾ cup bread flour
1 ½ teaspoon salt
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil

Topping:
1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon rosemary

Combine water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl; stir with a fork until yeast is dissolved. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Place 2 ½ cups of the flour and remaining dough ingredients into the bowl. Add liquid ingredients. Mix with a dough hook on low speed for 2 to 5 minutes. Add additional flour if dough is sticky when touched. Place dough in a oiled bowl, turning once to oil the top. Let rise until doubled, about 30 to 45 minutes.

Punch the dough down. Use 1 teaspoon of the oil to coat a baking sheet and place the dough on the baking sheet. Gently press the dough out to about ½ inch thickness. Pour the remaining 1 ½ teaspoons oil over the top of the dough. Use the handle end of a wooden spoon to dimple the dough at 1 ½ inch intervals. Sprinkle with the rosemary and parmesan. Let rise until doubled, 20 to 25 minutes.

Turn the oven to 375 degrees. Bake the focaccia for 20 to 25 minutes, or until browned on top. Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Serve warm.
I also made Magnolia Cupcakes just because...well...what is a party without them?
