LL Bean

I feel like I should have one of these in my 72 hour pack. In fact, I want everyone in my family to have one of these in their 72 hour packs.
The LL Bean website gives this description of it...
"Stay informed and be prepared during a power outage or an emergency. The portable FR-300 radio broadcasts news and current weather conditions, has a built-in LED light with emergency flash and siren, and charges cell phones (Eton will send you a free adaptor for your cell phone model). Now available in a selection of exclusive translucent colors as well as camouflage. Great to have on hand at camp or while traveling in remote areas.

The handcrank power generator charges an internal NiMH battery for power in case of an emergency. Features an AM/FM tuner, audio from TV1 and TV2 (VHF channels 2 to 13) and all seven NOAA Weather Radio channels. Nylon carry case for traveling. Can also run on three AA batteries, not included. Made for L.L.Bean by Eton.
6 1/2"H x 6 7/10"W x 2 1/4"D. 1 lb. 5 oz. Imported."
How cool is it that it can charge your cell phone!?

k, but what is the likelihood that a situation will arise where the television and power are completely out, but cellphones work? I can't get the damn phone to work when its sunny outside, let alone in the middle of a catastrophe.

Oh, and also, if my phone works I'd probably just call somebody and ask what the weather is like. Or just look up where my roof used to be. Or use the googling function.

But LL Bean sounds functional and tasty, so I guess I'm on board for one of these.
